Artifact Description

Among the shelves of Curiovera, one occasionally encounters tools that feel older than their purpose. Objects that seem perfectly at home among dried herbs, fragrant resins, old books and handwritten notes.

This copper assistant immediately drew my attention. There is something satisfying about tools that transform patience, warmth and carefully chosen ingredients into something entirely new.

Some herbs reveal their secrets willingly. Others require a little persuasion.

Available Editions

The Copper Assistant — Traditional Alembic (1.5L)
Classic form designed for traditional distillation and smaller experiments.

The Copper Assistant — Grand Traditional Alembic (3L)
For larger batches and those who suspect that small experiments rarely remain small.

The Copper Assistant — Botanical Edition (1.5L)
Includes an additional botanical chamber allowing steam to gently pass through herbs and flowers before continuing through the distillation process.

Mistress Curiovera insists flowers appreciate the arrangement.

Master of Inventorium insists this simply improves extraction efficiency.

Discussion ongoing.

Despite certain members of Curiorium insisting on mystery and ritual, I should point out that this is a very practical device.

These traditional copper alembics are handcrafted from hammered copper with brass details and follow a classic design used for distillation of aromatic plants, extraction of essential oils, hydrolats and various botanical experiments.

Each construction includes the main boiler, upper hood with thermometer, a characteristic swan-neck tube and cooling chamber with coil system. Water circulates through dedicated channels while the final distillate follows its intended route through the system.

The Botanical Edition additionally includes a separate chamber for herbs and flowers, allowing steam to pass through plant material more gently during extraction.

Copper remains one of the traditional materials used for this type of work thanks to its thermal properties and long historical use in distillation practices.

And admittedly…

it also looks excellent.

—Master of Inventorium

There is something oddly satisfying in watching steam slowly reveal hidden aspects of herbs and flowers. Some become oils. Some become hydrolats.

Some become notes in private journals best left unpublished.

I suspect this assistant may become a frequent companion for curious creators.
