The Dentes Lapidei II occupies the space between the mortar and the full-sized stone mill, offering a deliberate and controlled method of grinding herbs, tea leaves, spices and other dry ingredients.

Crafted from stone and operated by hand, it transforms preparation into part of the process itself. As the upper stone rotates, ingredients are gradually crushed and refined, allowing greater control over texture than many conventional grinders.

While particularly suited to tea, herbs and spices, the Dentes Lapidei II is equally capable of preparing culinary mixtures such as chili, garlic or herb pastes when required. Its generous stone surfaces provide efficient grinding while preserving the tactile satisfaction of traditional preparation methods.

Curiovera’s Notes

The Dentes Lapidei II was originally brought into the chambers for tea preparation.

Several experiments later, it had also processed herbs, spices, garlic, chili peppers and at least one mixture that nobody has successfully identified since.

While it is not intended for large-scale milling, it excels at preparing ingredients in quantities suitable for households, workshops and small gatherings.

The optional preparation stand is not required.

It is merely appreciated by those who prefer keeping every fragment of their work exactly where it belongs.

Standard Configuration

The traditional arrangement. The Dentes Lapidei II stone mill supplied on its own, exactly as intended for tea, herbs, spices and everyday preparation work.

Workshop Configuration

Includes the Dentes Lapidei II together with a dedicated wooden preparation stand, providing additional workspace and helping keep ingredients, herbs and pastes neatly contained during extended sessions.
